I regret I find it impossible to give war part time for following reasons - (a) I am senior gynaecological surgeon in Glasgow Royal Infirmary and as all four assistants are away on was war service I am doing the Hospital work with students & nurses (b) I am actively engaged as systematic & Clinical lecturer in the training of final year medical students (c) My time for private consulting work is already seriously curtailed.

At the call of the local War Committee for my area, as instructed by the
Scottish Medical Service Emergency Committee, I am prepared to render the service
or services marked above. This offer is subject to the condition that, in the event
of such service requiring me to leave my present work, I am enabled to make
arrangements for having it carried in during my absence.
